Wheelchair Accessibility Story: Michael Roberts Profile

On Saturday afternoon, I got to meet an incredibly strong man, and fellow student here at Syracuse University. Michael Roberts is a law student at SU, and has been in a wheelchair since he was 14 years old. Michael lives with his beautiful service dog, and talking with him about wheelchair accessibility was a very touching experience. Our conversation made me incredibly thankful for all that I have been blessed with. It also illuminated an issue that I was relatively unaware of, yet one that was clearly having a significant effect on Michael and many others throughout the campus.

Early Goodbye to Coach Boeheim

An early goodbye to Coach Boeheim who will be retiring in 3 years. He spoke today at a press conference and reiterated that he will be appealing parts of the 9 game suspension. He also expressed his great dissatisfaction with the unfair treatment of the SU basketball team. Great article going into more detail by my talented buddy Jesse Dougherty in the Daily Orange.

Syracuse vs. Miami Men's Basketball

Tough loss today for the Orange against University of Miami.
This was my first basketball shoot of the season, and damn, was it a close game. Sitting in the crowd is one thing, but sitting court side in a stadium packed with over 30,000 people with minutes left on the clock.. well nothing beats that.
Love this school, and I really need to shoot more basketball.

My favorite shot from today of the big man, Rakeem Christmas:

Google Glass

I got the assignment of producing some creative portraits w/ the google glass device for the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications website.

The practicality of Google Glass is interesting, and I don't think the demand for them is present yet. Especially considering how expensive they are. I could definitely see them becoming more trendy in the coming years w/ the growing culture of devices being hands-free, and it would be cool to see google glass used in the future w/ professional and collegiate athletics. Referees using them to get on the spot replays to aid in on field/court decision making would definitely save a lot of time, and in terms of a modern heads up display, the possibilities are endless. Who knows what the future will hold. ‪#‎google‬ ‪#‎googleglass‬
